New Building Announcement
BandWith’s free performing arts programs will be moving into a permanent home, to open in the fall of 2025. Through a generous gift from the Glasser & Rosenthal families, BandWith was able to purchase a 25,000 sq. ft. building in East Garfield Park, a block away from where the program had its start 10 years ago.
Housing our free dance, drumline, sound engineering, instrumental and choral ensemble programs, we are building a space for many more students to grow as people and performers, for young adults to receive job-training and meaningful employment, for the community to gather and celebrate the talents of their youth for years to come.
Vision
With an understanding of the deep challenges our community faces but with a clear sense of the inherent hope and collective strength of the daily efforts of its members, we intend to draw much-needed resources and recognition to the West Side of Chicago by helping to strengthen and amplify the voices of this community. Watch here a brief video of our students rehearsing in their future performing arts building.

“I can be having the worst day of my life and when I start dancing, I can feel a weight being lifted...I feel dancing gives me the freedom to be happy"
Bernetta Smith, BandWith parent and Board President
“BandWith’s after school program takes me back to when I was young and we had programs and people who cared about the well-being of the kids. With programs like BandWith, youth throughout Chicago can see their
potential and value.”
